Today RoyBoy and I had our first pre-marital counseling session. It was very interesting, as we went over the results from the inventory survey we took separately. Our strengths include conflict resolution and communication, which is great. Actually, in conflict resolution we answered the same for all questions, and we had 90% agreement in questions regarding communication. Our relationship is one of a ‘vitalized couple,’ which means that our relationship has the potential to last. RoyBoy made the point that we have all the necessary tools; we just need to use them to build something that counts. It was a great session, and we have another on Saturday. We also have a lot of homework to do over the next month or so. Two of the big things will include talking finances (we haven’t because we are unsure of the future, but we need to have a plan) and expectations.
