I recently ordered flowers from afloral.com. Like I said in an earlier post, we are using silk flowers. Afloral.com had a HUGE selection of beautiful silk flowers (and prices as $0.50 each!), so we went ahead and ordered everything. They came very quickly, and the gerbera daisies are very realistic and beautiful.
We also bought some regular white daisies, but we are sending them back because they look fake, and that’s not right. A funny thing was that they gave me too many of one kind of flower- 12 orange daises with 4 inch heads.
There was a small issue, though… some 40-50 flowers were missing. I called the company, and the rep apologized profusely and told me that they would be shipped immediately. She also said to keep the extra orange daises. Bonus!
For $180.60 we got 20 small gerberas and 30 large gerberas in each color of orange, pink, yellow, and cream. We also got some green floral tape, and then 3 daisy bushes. The daisy bushes will be returned, and I’ll get $23 back (although, I do have to pay for shipping, so we’ll say $10). This covers corsages, bouquets, boutonnieres, and the reception flowers. None needed for the ceremony. Then, we’ll need the parts for anyone who wants wristlets, extra parts for the corsages, ribbons, etc. I’m guessing that the grand total for flowers will be $250. Not bad when TheKnot.com gave me a budget of $480!
But wait, what about the ribbons for the bouquets?? My mother has a TON of cute, vintage hankies that we will be using for the bouquets. To secure them, a simple ribbon bow. Voila. Cute. Classy. Cheap. Beautiful. We actually JUST got done talking about this, and she loves the idea.
