Flowers and colors

I have been toying with the idea of silk flowers for a while now. Why? Because it's cheaper, partly because we can do it ourselves. Plus, the flowers won't wilt, or even dry/fade with time. It's more practical. There are some lovely silk flowers out there.

So, I proposed this idea to my mum. First thing she said? "I can do them for you." Hallelujah! One thing I def. won't have to do! Mum used to make silk flower arrangements, so there we go! Boutonnieres seem simple enough, and I like the idea of simple, small clusters for my bride's maids. The groom's men and bride's maids will have opposite colors for attire and flowers: the girls are in pink, so the guys will have pink boutonnieres. Likewise, the girls will have flowers that match the lads. The flower girl's dress will be in either yellow or orange: whichever the groom's men aren't in. I like this.

EDIT: Just talked to RoyBoy, and the opposite flowers idea is out. The guys will have white flower boutonniers and yellow ties. RoyBoy will probably be in ivory, and he will have and orange boutonnier. The flower girl will be in orange, I hope, while the ring bearer will be in a little black suit and yellow tie. awwwwww

I will have white oxeye daisies in my hair. I am not sure about my bouquet, though. I had thought all oxeyes... but I don't know how I feel about white and white. (Well, technically white and ivory, but shhh.) So I want to think more. I probably will stick with the white daisies, so that my bouquet is different from everyone else. Plus, I'll have my colorful shoes...

The bride's maids' bouquets will be gerbera daisies, and the main flower for the boutonnieres will be as well. I guess that corsages will be, for mothers/etc... but I'll talk with mum more about this.

For the ring bearer and flower girl, I think I will just have them each holding an over-sized gerbera daisy stem. I don't like the idea of buying a bunch of flowers just to destroy them and throw their petals, nor do I like the silk petal idea- talk about littering and destroying the lawn! So I think the single flower will work. I even think I could sew a small ribbon to the one for the ring bearer, on the head, not the stem, for the 'rings' to be attached with. It's different, and cute. Oh, and I want them to walk up the aisle together. I think that's cute, too. :)
