This past Wednesday I checked off a big thing on every bride’s TO-DO list: I sent out the wedding invites! I chose to do this super-early because I know that airline tickets can get expensive, and I wanted people to have the option of booking everything as early as possible. Also, I have guests invited from Sweden, and I would love for them to come. Getting the info to them as early as possible seemed important.
I have to give the USPS props; I sent the invites Wednesday, and some people got them TODAY! Woah! I think that’s pretty amazing, really. A nice woman at the counter also helped me stamp all 187 envelopes. Very nice of her.
The reason I know people got them was because one of the groom's men, who is practically my brother, called me to say he got it. Thanks, Bro! :)
The grand total for the invites, Save-The-Dates, stamps, etc. was $193.95. It was technically over budget a little, but I also had to make ‘test sheets’ and I decided to make small business cards with the wedding website for each envelope. I also made too many of one insert, but oh well. It was still cheaper than a lot of other options, plus I did extra, AND it was exactly what I wanted. So there. $15 of that total also included the stamper I bought to make the border of the invites, but I included it in the total cost, because it was part of that budget. I love DIY.
